DR. UCHE OGAH LEADS EFFORT TO EMPOWER ARTISENAL MINERS AND IMPROVE NIGERIA’S RESERVE
Dr. Uche Ogah being the Minister in charge of Artisenal Mining Thursday at The Presidential Villa, made history as the first indigenous gold bar was presented to President Muhammadu Buhari, under The Presidential Artisenal Gold Mining Development Initiative (PAGMI).
This initiative is focused on aggregating gold values mined by artisenal miners with the Central Bank Of Nigeria positioned as a major off taker. With this initiative gold mined in Nigeria will now be beneficiated, certified and reserved with the Central Bank Of Nigeria. This will also improve value addition, reserved value of Nigeria’s currency and the general wellbeing of artisenal miners in Nigeria.
