Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji, has admonished youths not to allow their peaceful agitations be hijacked by those who are desperately seeking a platform to promote their own selfish interests.
The Speaker stated this while addressing a group of youths in Umuahia, the Abia State capital on Saturday.
The Speaker reminded the youths that should they allow actors with selfish political interests hijack their peaceful protests, it will vitiate their noble cause and destroy their integrity, a situation which he said they can’t afford to allow or have their characters impugned for a long time.
“They will come to you with mouthwatering offers to make you deviate from the noble causes of the agitations. You must not fall for such Greek offers”, he said.
While commending the demonstrators for remembering victims of extrajudicial killings in the country, he asked them to also remember the policemen who have lost their lives in the cause of protecting the citizens, saying these men and officers of the Force also have families.
