Press release
The Board and Management of Abia State University Teaching Hospital (ABSUTH) have become aware of an information circulating on social media claiming that ABSUTH has turned to Sen. Kalu to pay salary arrears.
This statement attributed to Dr Okwuonu Chimezie, the State NMA Chairman, does not in any way represent the current state of affairs at the Teaching Hospital.
This is coming barely one week after Government commenced the payment of the arrears as earlier promised by the Governor.
The Board and Management of the Institution frown seriously at such outlandish calls that has no substance and therefore wish to state as follows:
1. We are not aware of any of such visit to any Senator
2. We did not authorize such statements
3. The Government of Abia State led by Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu PhD has shown genuine interest and is determined to clear the salary arrears – as the first tranche of payment was received recently
4. The Board and Management of ABSUTH are grateful to the State Government and believe in her genuine interest in revitalizing the Hospital.
Dr Wokoh Davidson N.
Chairman of the Governing Council, ABSUTH
