On Thursday the Biafra Nations League, BNL has cautioned John Nnia Nwodo, former President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, to stop making statements that could annoy Igbo speaking people of Delta State.

Recall that Nwodo on wednesday had in his reaction to the recent appointment of service chiefs, thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for snubbing Igbos.

President Buhari sacked the former service chiefs on Tuesday and this came after many months of public pressure.

The old security heads were replaced by Major-General Leo Irabor, Chief of Defence Staff; Major-General Ibrahim Attahiru, Chief of Army Staff; Rear Admiral AZ Gambo, Chief of Naval Staff; and Air-Vice Marshal Isiaka Oladayo Amao, Chief of Air Staff.

BNL faulted Nwodo, insisting that Leo Irabor, the new Chief of Defence Staff is an Igbo man from Ika in Delta State, adding that “except he denies being Igbo like the Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike did.”

In a statement to newsmen, the National Leader of BNL, Princewill Chimezie Richard said Nwodo’s comments would have been more sensible if he had claimed nobody from the South East was appointed by President Buhari.

“I understand his points, but he should correct his statement because the Delta Igbo people will feel bad that Nwodo does not know the boundary of Igbo land and he was a President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo”.

BNL leader, however, maintained that appointing Igbos into offices in Nigeria won’t solve the problem of the Igbo people, adding that the solution is to join hands in the pursuit for Biafra.
