The great people of Isuikwuato State Constituency have expressed their profound gratitude to President Muhammad Buhari for approving the completion of Mbalano power station in Isuikwuato.
According to the lawmaker Representing Isuikwuato State Constituency Hon Barr Emeka Okorafor,the power station when completed will in no small measure improve the well-being of the people of the Constituency.
We are also most grateful to Senator Ike Nwachukwu for facilitating the Mbalano power project and other power projects in the South-East under the administration of former president Olusegun Obasanjo. Isuikwuato people is greatly pleased with the former president for his approval and take off funding.
Recall that Senator Ike Nwachukwu, as Chairman, Senate Committee for Power & Steel in Year 2000, attracted a consortium of projects to the South East region of Nigeria.
The consortium of projects include those in Abia State :
A.
i) The Double Circuit 132kV Transmission Line from Alaoji to Umuahia;
ii) And The Substation at Umuahia.
B.
i) The 132kV Single Circuit Transmission Line from Umuahia to Mbalano;
ii) And The 2×30/40 MVA, 132/33 kV Substation at Mbalano.
C.
i) The 132kV Single Circuit Transmission Line from Mbalano to Okigwe;
ii) And The 2×30/40 MVA, 132/33 kV Substation at Okigwe.
D.
i) The 132kV Single Circuit Transmission Line from Umuahia to Ohafia;
ii) And The 2×30/40 MVA, 132/33 kV Substation at Ohafia.
E.
i) The 132kV Single Circuit Transmission Line from Ohafia to Arochukwu;
ii) And The 2×30/40 MVA, 132/33 kV Substation at Arochukwu.
All the Abia projects were awarded in December, 2000, and Mobilization Fee paid by (not later) October, 2000.
