Former heavyweight boxing champion, Mike Tyson, has confirmed that his highly-anticipated trilogy fight with Evander Holyfield will take place on May 29, 2021.
On Monday, Holyfield’s camp claimed, “Tyson’s people had dismissed all offers,” leading to speculations that he rejected a $25m deal for the fight.
However, speaking in an Instagram Live on Tuesday, 54-year-old Tyson insisted that the “fight is on”.
The two men fought in 1996 and 1997, one of which involved Tyson infamous biting of Holyfield’s ear.
“I just want everybody to know, the fight is on with me and Holyfield,” Tyson said, in a chat with Haute Living.
“Holyfield’s a humble man, I know that. And he’s a man of God, but I’m God’s man.
“And, listen, I’m going to be successful on May 29th.”
