President Muhammadu Buhari has departed Nigeria for the United Kingdom, UK.
Buhari departed Nigeria on Tuesday afternoon for the UK from the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja.
Buhari is expected to see his doctor for a medical checkup while in the UK.
A statement by the Presidency had said Buhari will return to Nigeria around the second week of April 2021.
This is not the first time the president would be embarking on such a trip.
Buhari had in 2016 embarked on medical tourism for his earache.
The president before his departure, however, met with his Vice, Yemi Osinbajo, Service Chiefs and other top government functionaries for a brief meeting.
Others present at the meeting were the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha; Defense Minister, Major-General Bashir Magashi (Rtd); and the Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari and the National Security Adviser, Major-General Babagana Monguno (Rtd).
