The All Progressives Congress (APC) has moved it’s state congresses scheduled for October 2, 2021 by two weeks.
While an official statement is still being awaited, a source within the party hierarchy said the congresses will now hold nationwide on 16 October.
The decision to postpone the congresses was reportedly reached after consultation with President Muhammadu Buhari by the Mai Mala Buni caretaker and convention committee.
The party had held ward and local government congresses between July 31 and September 4.
The state congresses will prepare the ground for the party’s zonal congresses and the national convention, where a new crop of national leaders will be elected.
