The lawmaker representing Anambra North, Sen. Stella Oduah, has said no person or party can stop the All Progressives Congress (APC) from winning the November 6 governorship election.
She promised to deliver the senatorial zone to APC and its governorship candidate, Sen. Andy Uba, during the election.
The lawmaker spoke during the APC stakeholders’ meeting in Awka.
She advised the leaders and aggrieved persons to close rank for the party’s victory.
Oduah said: “We are committed to deploying everything in our arsenal to ensure victory for the APC in Anambra North on November 6. This is not a contest I take lightly, as I have respect and confidence in the ability of Sen. Uba to turn and position Anambra as a state every Anambrarian can be proud of.
“I am making a commitment to ensure victory for our great party and the work has already begun in the way and manner our support groups, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and teeming supporters spread across the length and breadth of Anambra North have been deployed in a massive polling unit to polling unit campaign drive.”
The Chairman of the APC in Anambra, Chief Basil Ejidike, said yesterday that more heavyweight politicians from other parties would join the party soon.
He said the population explosion experienced in the party followed realisation by most politicians that APC had become the most cherished party in the state.
Speaking at a stakeholders’ and leaders’ meeting in Awka, Ejidike stressed that Anambra was already becoming a one-party (APC) state.
He, however, said the party’s only challenge remained wrestling power from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), which he added would be achieved through massive grassroots mobilisation.
