The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has extolled his Ebonyi State counterpart, Engr. David Umahi for the massive transformation going on in the State.
Governor Sanwo-Olu made the commendation when he joined the Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi in a reception in honour of the solemnization of the holy matrimony between his nephew, Emeka Chris Obi-Umahi, and former Miss Princess Chimemerigo Ilonze at Harbour Point, Lagos State on Friday.
He commended Governor Umahi for the massive transformation going on in Ebonyi State and wished him a nice stay in Lagos State.
“Thank you very much for the kind words you used to describe us, thank you very much, we have been encouraged.
“Governor Umahi is one of those I learn from, I know that as tough as Ebonyi, he has turned that place into a construction site with several overhead bridges, I can assure you that you have a family that you can always count on their support.”
Governor Sanwolu congratulated the couple on the consummation of their love life and wished them well in their marriage.
“Emeka, I can see the glory and grace of your new wife written all over you, indeed you have all it takes to take care of Princess, God Almighty will bless you and she will be a great supporter and your marriage would be blessed with several children, I wish you all the very best and I can see that the future is bright for you and Nigeria needs young couples like yourself.”
Speaking at the reception, the Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Umahi appreciated the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu for coming to honour the Umahi’s family and share in their joy.
“I am tempted to say that all our Governors are doing very well and this man loves our people. I want the people of Lagos and our people in Lagos to love this man and to support him, he is a performer, Lagos has changed, Your Excellency, we appreciate you, you have shown us much love and we shall always appreciate.”
He charged the couple to continue to represent their wider families adequately through adherence to their marriage vows.
The Chairman of the reception, Professor Anya O. Anya congratulated the couple on their landmark union and advised them to avoid the third parties in their marital affairs.
“A successful marriage is the one that is only between husband and wife. There should be no third party in your marriage.
“The important thing is to recognize that the God who started marriage in garden of Eden and who confirmed it in Canan will be there for you.
“I appeal to every one of us, always remember them in prayers.”
Parents of the Bride, Mr. and Mrs. Ilonze and that of the Groom General and Mrs. Obi-Umahi congratulated their children on their successful union and prayed God to bless them.
