Azpilicueta hit the post with a deflected shot early in the first half before Lukaku headed the Blues ahead, but Brighton came to life after that. Mendy made some good saves to keep out Lallana, Mac Allister and Bissouma, with Moder also skimming the crossbar with a chance just after the break.
They kept pushing though and Welbeck’s stoppage-time header secured the draw.
