United have now drawn their last two Premier League games and although they are now level on points with West Ham in fourth, the Hammers could move ahead again tomorrow. United face Brighton and Hove Albion on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Southampton remain 10th and they’ll face Everton next weekend.
It ends all square at Old Trafford between Man United and Southampton, despite numerous chances for both teams to win it. United led at the break through Sancho, but they were pegged back straight from the restart as Adams fired in the equaliser on 48 minutes.
Both teams pushed forward in search of a winner, with Ronaldo getting the ball in the back of the net, but his header was ruled out for offside, before Maguire was denied in stoppage time by Forster. Southampton constantly threatened on the counter, with Armstrong and Borja going close, but they also couldn’t score another and it finished 1-1.
