Abia Speaker urges Anglican Church to pray fervently for Nigeria and her Leaders

The Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji earlier today attended the ongoing Second Session, Tenth Synod of the Anglican Church, Diocese of Umuahia, holding at St Andrew’s Anglican Church, Nsukwe/Amibo Ubakala North Archdeaconry.

Speaking at the event, the Speaker congratulated the entire clergy and members of the Anglican Church, Diocese of Umuahia on the special occasion of their Synod.

He urged the Church to continue to stand on the path of truth at all times and live out the virtues of Christ.

While wishing them a happy and successful deliberation, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji charged them to pray fervently for the nation and her leaders, expressing hope that the Synod will drastically improve the christian life of the members.

Finally the Speaker pledged to handsomely support the reconstruction, reinforcement and remodelling of the collapsed Cathedral’s building at Saint Stephen’s Church, Umuahia.

Deputy Speaker Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Ifeanyi Francis Uchendu, Secretary to the State Government, Barr Chris Chiadi Ezem, Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr Sampson Uchechukwu Ogah, Clergymen and other dignitaries graced the event.

Bishop of Umuahia Diocese ( Anglican Communion ) The Rt Revd Geoffrey Obijuru Ibeabuchi delivered the Presidential Address.
