The Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for Bende Federal Constituency Hon Nnenna Elendu Ukeje has called on Media practitioners to strive to be independence in their professional media practice.
Speaking at the Michael Okpara auditorium on Thursday during the 2nd Media summit of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Hon Ukeje said the role of media is to educate people.
“There can’t be good governance without compliance, there can’t be good governance without checks and balances”
“The media should strive to uphold the independence of our democracy and that of the press”. She said.
