The Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly and the PDP standard-bearer for Ikwuano-Umuahia Federal Constituency at the 2023 General elections, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji FNSE was today conferred with Fellow of Nigerian Society of Engineers, FNSE.

The event which held Thursday evening amid pomp and splendour at the Chida Event Centre, Abuja, which was filled to capacity, had 94 other engineers from across the federation elevated to the highest professional engineering cadre of Fellow.

Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji was selected for the investiture for his demonstration of professional competence, capacity, and integrity, and for using such attributes in the service of mankind.

His cognate experience in the engineering profession spans over 27 years having bagged his First Degree in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) in 1996. Since then, Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji has embarked on several projects of quality before he threw his hat into the ring of politics as another vehicle to render service to his people.

Even at that, he keeps demonstrating his engineering dexterity as can be seen in the remodeled Abia Assembly complex and the several mini-stadiums across the Ikwuano-Umuahia Federal Constituency.

Speaking at the event, the President of Nigerian Society of Engineers, NSE, Engr Tasiu Wudil said he was particularly proud of the newly installed Fellows as they have among them political leaders who have deployed their engineering experience in the service of the people. He urged them to keep the flag flying as the world looks upon them for a better society.

Among those elevated alongside the Abia Speaker at the event are political leaders, captains of industry, university Dons etc.

Rt Hon Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji was accompanied to the occasion by his wife, Dr Mrs Onyinyechi Orji, and the coordinator of Mr Speaker’s Campaign Council, Alhaji Suleiman Ukandu.
