The Holy Scriptures contains one of the eternal truths of all ages:There is time for every purpose under the sun. A time to work, and a time to rest. A time to commence and a time to end. A time to plead and a time to praise.
For us, Ikpeazu Faithfuls, this is the divine moment for us to give thanks and praises to God Almighty, the author of life for sparing the life of our principal, His Excellency, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu as he successfully steered the ship of state through the complex and murky waters of Abia political sea.
Dr. Ikpeazu came at a time of mass disenchantment.Abia had degenerated to the extreme, and had become a byeword for all forms of negative remarks as a result of insecurity, dilapidated road infrastructure and lack of access to our markets, traffic jams, decaying refuse dumps in urban centres, and low business patronage. The challenges were daunting humongous.
But he took up the gauntlet. And no sooner had he mounted the saddle than the diatractions came. They were persistent, deliberate, and sustained. There was no respite.
Accompanying the litigations were a well orchestrated smear campaign aimed at maligning his image and reputation. All efforts were made to link him with imaginary incidents that would bring scandal and put him to shame. Bloggers were paid and commissioned to demarket the state and its Chief Executive.
The campaigns of calumny, which exposed the core bitter content of the sponsors could have tasked the patience of a saint
. But in all of these, our dear governor proved himself a worthy occupant of the exalted office of a governor. To him, “forgiveness belongs to those who see the larger picture. “And so throughout his tenure there were no incidents of political assasinations.
Billboards of political opponents occupied vantage locations along the roads that are ‘impassable’. Dr Ikpeazu will surely be remembered.
Our purpose here is to praise God for seeing him through. And we urge all men of conscience and lovers of truth to join us in singing joyfully to the Lord for being there at every moment, guiding, protecting andoing more than we could imagine.
The catalogue of Ikpeazu’s accomplishments while in office is being documented. Today Abia is receiving laurels for her feat in Primary Health care;Today Abia has become a heaven for assylum-seeking neighbours;Today Abia is rated as one of the three most prosperous states in Nigeria;Today Abia is the toast of the nation in terms of trade and commerce, leather and garment industries, Today Abia state can boast of completed landmark projects that had never existed before in this state. Today Abia is relatively peaceful and safe for economic activities to thrive seamlessly.
And it is all happening under the supperintenency of a man of peace, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu.
