On Wednesday the workers at the Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa, paralysed activities at the institution on Wednesday over the mass dismissal of some members of staff.
According to the protesting workers who gathered in front of the school gate, 35 of their colleagues were unjustly sacked by the management of the institution.
The workers who shut the main gate of the institution vowed to paralyze all academic and non-academic activities in the school until the management reverses its decision.
They also maintained that the sacked workers must be recalled to duty for normalcy to return to the school.
One of the protesting workers, who craved anonymity, disclosed that the sacked colleagues were duly employed, received appointment letters, and completed all necessary documentation.
He also disclosed that most of the affected workers had worked at the school for over six months.
