Nigerian doctors, represented by the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD), are set to begin daily peaceful protests and picketing of the Federal Ministry of Health and the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation starting from Wednesday, August 9, 2023.
These demonstrations will also take place at federal and state tertiary health institutions across the country. The doctors are taking this action to draw attention to their demands, which they claim have been largely ignored by the government.
The move comes after the Federal Ministry of Health implemented a ‘no work, no pay’ policy against striking members of NARD.
The association is urging the government to address the challenges faced by the health sector and public health institutions, emphasizing the need for genuine efforts to resolve the ongoing issues.
