Under the leadership of Speaker Rt Hon. Barr. Edison Ehie, the Rivers State House of Assembly has passed a vote of confidence on Governor Siminalayi Fubara. Following a session on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, the House commended the Governor for his developmental efforts and security initiatives, highlighting the need for visionary leadership to ensure the state’s peace and progress.
The lawmakers pledged continuous support for the Governor’s consolidation and continuity agenda, emphasizing their commitment to the welfare of the people. In response to the recent attack on the Speaker’s residence and the burning of the Assembly chamber, the House urged the Governor to promptly initiate rehabilitation works.
Additionally, the Assembly called on the Inspector General of Police and other security agencies to investigate these attacks and bring the perpetrators to justice.
