In a recent communique, the government of Ahoada East Local Government Area declares its official stance on the perceived political discord between the immediate past Governor, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, and the present Governor, Sir Siminalaye Fubara.
Ahoada East asserts that the differences are akin to a family matter, urging against external interference and emphasizing unity for the betterment of Rivers State.
The government condemns those exploiting the situation for personal gain, calling for reconciliation and expressing optimism in the intervention of elders to restore peace and prosperity to the region.
The communique reads;
A COMMUNIQUE STATING THE POSITION OF AHOADA EAST LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA, ON THE SEEMING POLITICAL DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE IMMEDIATE PAST GOVERNOR OF RIVERS STATE AND PRESENT MINISTER OF THE FCT, HIS EXCELLENCY CHIEF (BARR.) NYESOM EZENWO WIKE CON, GSSRS, POS-AFRICA, LIFE BENCHER AND THE PRESENT GOVERNOR OF THE STATE, SIR SIMINALAYE FUBARA GSSRS.
The government and good people of Ahoada East Local Government Area have watched with utmost concern comments and reactions from various quarters, from self-styled stakeholders, groups and organizations across Rivers State, including some from Ahoada East Local Government Area, in respect of the seeming political differences between the immediate past Governor of the State, His Excellency Chief (Barr.) Nyesom Ezenwo Wike CON, GSSRS, POS-Africa, Life Bencher and the present Executive Governor of Rivers State His Excellency Sir Siminalaye Fubara GSSRS.
As a government and well-meaning people of Ahoada East Local Government Area, we make haste to state that every other comments and reactions emanating from individuals and groups within Ahoada East Local Government Area are mere personal positions and views of those expressing them and do not in any way reflect the position of Ahoada East Local Government Area. We therefore make haste to state the official position of Ahoada East Local Government Area on the matter as follows:
1. That the government and all well-meaning people of Ahoada East Local Government Area after a critical review of the situation have come to the inevitable conclusion and resolve to align ourselves with the positon of those who see the seeming political differences as a matter between a father and son that does not call for meddlesome interlopers, scheming for personal advantages.
2. That the government and well-meaning people of Ahoada East Local Government Area strongly believe that both His Excellency, the immediate past Governor of Rivers State and present Minister of the FCT, Chief (Barr.) Nyesom Ezenwo Wike CON, GSSRS, POS-Africa, Life Bencher and the present Governor of the State, His Excellency Sir Siminalaye Fubara GSSRS have at all times expressed their best interest and love for the unity and well-being of the people of Rivers State and therefore cannot by any stretch of the imagination attempt to destroy the house they have laboured to build together over time.
3. That we have in the light of the foregoing chosen to be hopeful and to tow the path of reconciliation and every available option that will ensure that peace and wise counsel prevail at the end of the day sooner than later, in the overall interest of the good people of Rivers State, as we strongly believe that Rivers State and her people will be the better for it when there is a synergy and harmonious relationship between the FCT Minister at the Federal level and the serving Governor in the State.
4. That those attempting to rub salt into the injury by fanning the embers of discord for their selfish gains are the worst enemies of Rivers State and we passionately appeal to the father and son in this dispute to distance themselves from such persons, as they do not mean well for the father and son and people of Rivers State.
5. The government and peace loving people of Ahoada East Local Government Area are highly optimistic that with the intervention of well-meaning Elders and stakeholders, the differences will soon be resolved, to the disappointment of the crisis profiteering mischief makers, so that our dear Rivers State will continue on the trajectory of peace, progress and prosperity, uninterrupted.
6. This is the stance and official position of the government and well-meaning people of Ahoada East Local Government Area.
