“The Academic Staff Union of Universities(ASUU) Abia State University branch has reiterated its resolve to embark on an indefinite strike despite statement released by the University Management.
In a statement on Tuesday by Chidi S Mba.Ph.D. Chairperson and Victor U Obisike. Ph.D Secretary, the Union said their stand remains unchanged until Governor Alex Otti who is the visitor to the University intervenes.

“This is to remind us of our last resolution at the Congress that if the salary arrears are not paid by the end of 31/12/2023, we will withdraw our services. This resolution stands and is effective”
“We encourage us to maintain this stand till further directive.However, your executive members are constantly in consultation with relevant stakeholders that will help get the visitor of the university to listen to us and do the needful”
“We need your support to achieve this.
