The former member representing Aba North and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Chimaobi Iheanyichukwu Ebisike has written to congratulate Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, the Governor of Abia State on his recent victory at the Supreme Court
Hon. Ebisike, a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) while paying glowing tributes to the Abia Governor, urged him to put behind him all “electioneering acrimonies” in order to tackle the very many challenges of governance.
Below is full text of the congratulatory message:
“His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti,
I wish to Congratulate you and the people of Abia State on your well-deserved victory as the Executive Governor of Abia State after a tough battle at the polls and through the litigation procedures. Your victory is a testimony and reflection of your doggedness, tenacity, steadfastness and consistent courage.
The court verdict ends all disputes against your election. You should also see it as a natural invitation to all the Distinguished Abians who contested with you, to join hands to develop Abia.
I appreciate your ingenious dispositions; result oriented initiatives and your hunger to contribute your quota towards the growth of Abia State. This is a critical period hence as you tackle the challenges that await you in this exalted office and engage in the onerous task of governance, I encourage you to put behind you all the electioneering acrimonies, and intentionally shun measures capable of igniting crisis in the State.
Please, do not allow your renowned brilliance to be eclipsed by cheap gossips, inconsiderate suggestions, and all kinds of distractions emanating from anyone due to their greed and quest for selfish and personal aggrandizement. Do not take your eyes off the ball. I look forward to your evident unprecedented achievements, because your success is the success of Abia State in her entirety. Let your word be your bond.
I as well enjoin you to maintain the peace, security, and safety of lives and property that the State has enjoyed in the last eight years. As you have shown keen willingness in infrastructural developments, I encourage you to also look into enhancing the area of the civil service, and the concerns of the traders and the transporters in the State.
I want to respectfully remind you that you are here to represent Ndi Abia, thus I urge you to dare to be different. A lot of trust and confidence have been bestowed upon you and we expect that you do not disappoint. The work starts now!!! It’s time to write your name in gold.
In line with biblical injunctions as recorded in Romans 13:1, I urge everyone to be subject to the governing authorities, because they have been instituted by God. And in 1Timothy 2:1-4, we are urged to pray and intercede for our leaders, therefore I call on my supporters and indeed all Abians to join me in praying and supporting those spearheading the affairs of the government, because it benefits us all when our leaders do well. The unity, stability and progress of our dear State is far more important than anything else.
His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, my desire is that God endows you with wisdom, knowledge, understanding, grace, and the good heart and passion to translate your victory into more tangible dividends of democracy to alleviate the aches of the masses. May God help you in the governance matrix to deliver on your mandate to your people.
