The Chairman of Ahoada-East LGA, Ben Eke, has confirmed that the decomposed body displayed today by the Rivers State Police Command is that of wanted gang leader, 2bba. Mr. Eke said this while addressing journalists at the command headquarters. He said the death of 2baba will restore peace in Ahoada-East and its environs.
The Rivers State Police Command who recovered the body of Gift Okpara also known as 2baba, the gang leader accused of killing the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the Ahoada East Division, SP Bako Angbashim in September last year.
Nigeriainfo reports that the body arrived at the State Police Command at about 11:20 am today.
This comes barely a week after the police said 2baba was killed during a joint security raid in Idu-Ekpeye Community in Ahoada West but that efforts were ongoing to retrieve the body. Speaking to journalists today, the state Commissioner of Police, Tunji Disu, said it took the police one hour to get access to the Ebrass forest in Ahoada West LGA where the body of the wanted leader was discovered.
