Igboho, a Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, claimed on Friday that God had brought him back to Nigeria.
Igboho said this while claiming that Muhammadu Buhari, the previous president, was trying to kill him.
He said that Buhari dispatched soldiers and the Department of State Services, or DSS, to kill him at home.
Speaking to his supporters in Oyo State, the independence fighter asserted that the attempt on his life was motivated by his agitation against Fulani herders’ slaughter of farmers in the Southwest.
As said by Igboho: “Buhari sent his soldiers and DSS to arrest me in my house because I said Yorubas are not slaves to Fulanis, they can’t suppress us in our father’s land.
“Fulanis can’t stop our fathers and mothers from going to their farms. But, I’m back with the power of God and authority not that of man.”
In advance of his mother’s funeral in the Saki neighborhood of Oyo State, the independence fighter arrived back in Nigeria on Thursday.
Igboho left Nigeria in 2021 after the DSS issued a wanted poster, and he absconded to the Benin Republic.
He managed to flee after the DSS broke into his home in Oyo State’s Soka neighborhood.
Because of his support for Yoruba Nation and his attacks on Fulani herders who are suspected of killing farmers in the Southwest, the secret police had labeled him wanted.
Igboho was detained and placed under arrest in the Benin Republic while trying to enter Germany.
Nevertheless, he was released from a Beninoise prison two years ago.
