Senator Shehu Sani, a former politician, has backed the suggested talks with the kidnappers of more than 200 students who were abducted in Kaduna.

reports that Islamist militants kidnapped at least 200 students from their school in Kuriga, Kaduna State.

In a post on his X handle, Sani clarified that the talks with the robbers are OK as long as there isn’t a large ransom paid.

He wrote: “Negotiations with the Bandits who kidnapped the Kaduna pupils is okay as long as it will NOT involve huge payments.

“It should be a koboless negotiation. Their reported demands for outrageous ransom is sheer madness.

“I’m still optimistic that the pupils will eventually be released gauging the ongoing efforts”.
