On Tuesday, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, a leader of the leading Igbo socio-cultural group Ohanaeze Ndigbo, urged presidential candidates of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar, NNPP, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and Labour Party, Peter Obi, to support President Bola Tinubu.
According to Isiguzoro, Tinubu should get help from Atiku, Obi, and Kwankwaso in order to address the security and economic issues plaguing Nigeria.
In a written statement, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, the factional Secretary-General, made the call.
In an additional show of support and unity for Tinubu’s leadership, he revealed Ohanaeze’s intentions to honor him.
In light of the assertion: “Furthermore, we stand firm in our conviction to honour President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the retreat, as a gesture of solidarity and support for his leadership in these challenging times.
“We urge political figures like Peter Obi, Atiku Abubakar, and Rabiu Kwankwaso to set aside their conflicts and join hands to assist Tinubu in tackling the economic and security crises plaguing our nation.
“Let this be a clarion call for action, justice, and remembrance. Together, we must ensure that the fallen heroes are immortalized and that their memory serves as a beacon guiding us toward a future of unity, peace, and prosperity.”
This comes after Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule encouraged Obi to aid Tinubu in the development of the country.
Sule had told Obi that politics was done and that it was now time to work with Tinubu to take Nigeria forward.
