The Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, is allegedly trying to instigate a crisis in order to gain attention from President Bola Tinubu, who is “already getting fed up with his nuisance of bringing politics into the governance of the FCT,” according to Uche Secondus, a former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Secondus claimed that Wike was making a concerted effort to fabricate a crisis inside the party.
On Thursday, the PDP will convene its 98th National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Abuja.
Secondus, however, claimed that Wike is attempting to convey the idea of a struggle for supremacy between him and Atiku Abubakar.
The minister is “deviously trying to create the impression that he is in a tussle of supremacy with the party’s 2023 Presidential candidate and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar Wike, who is copiously losing political relevance everywhere from Rivers to Abuja is trying to give the impression that he is a factor in PDP and holding it for his APC interest,” according to a statement released by Secondus’s spokesman, Ike Abonyi.
“The critical structures of this party, NEC, BoT, National Caucus, forum of Governors, Chairmen of states and National Assembly caucus of the party must rise to the challenge and isolate mischief makers and meddlers like Wike and move the party forward.”
