Emeka Amadi, the clerk of the Rivers State House of Assembly, has repudiated the Assembly’s side that supports Governor Sim Fubara.
Amadi urged that Martin Amaewhule continue to serve as Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
According to the clerk, on October 30, 2023, the three assembly members who supported Fubara—Hon. Victor Oko Jumbo, Hon. Sokari Goodboy Sokari, and Hon. Adolphus Orubimie Timothy—were suspended and are no longer eligible to serve as House officers.
Jumbo was named the next Speaker of the Assembly by a few MPs on Thursday.
