In the Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State, a mosque in Laraba Abasawa was set on fire by an unidentified assailant.
As stated, the event happened early on Wednesday and resulted in injuries to worshippers.
The incident occurred when the community was praying the “Subh” prayer, according to the article.
According to a community member who wished to remain anonymous, “the man used gasoline and lit fire while the people, about forty of them, were praying.” Following the fire, he locked the mosque.
“It took time for people outside to get aware of the incident and rescue the victims who were struggling to break out.”
At least twenty worshippers were sent to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital in Kano after it was reported that they had suffered significant injuries.
