Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has declared that the political unrest in Rivers State is not a source of distraction.

Wike revealed this information on Friday while touring several important projects that President Bola Tinubu is prepared to commission, beginning on May 27 to commemorate his one-year tenure.

Many projects in the FCT that were ready for commissioning would not be doable, he claimed, if he was sidetracked by the situation.

With the ongoing political unrest in Rivers state, there are a number of rumors circulating that Wike is preoccupied and not paying attention to his duties as the minister of the Federal Capital Territory.

Wike stated: “I am not distracted as FCT minister. If I’m distracted you will not see all these projects in FCT.”

According to the former governor of Rivers State, Tinubu will be starting nine-day projects commissioning in the Federal Capital Territory.
