Reaffirms Call on Abia Speaker to declare Aba North Assembly Seat Vacant

The Chairman of Aba North Traditional Rulers Council Eze Chima Kingsley Njoku has declared that the Appeal Court Judgement in Favour of the candidate of the PDP in the Aba North State Constituency Hon Aaron Uzodike is like a tissue paper that has no binding on the Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly.

The Traditional ruler stated this while appearing as a guest on Magic FM People and politics on Tuesday.

He said the Traditional rulers are not happy that the seat has been vacant for 8 months and it was out of their worry, that they demanded for the seat to be declared vacant by the House of Assembly.

“We explored every avenue in that Judgement before we came to our decision, when someone is being adjudged as the winner in the Court of law, there must be consequential orders, therefor in the absence of such, the Judgement is as good as a tissue paper”

“The Election petition is time bound, however as the Tribunal failed to give directive to the Speaker or the Leadership of the Abia State House of Assembly to swear in Hon Aaron Uzodike, the Speaker is left with no choice than to declare the seat Vacant after six months in other to give room for a fresh election”

“Aba North Traditional Rulers council and the people who are the owners of the said Constituency or the seat have come to the conclusion that the seat be declared vacant “

“We abhor incompetency, therefore we don’t need an incompetent Person to benefit from that suffering of the masses”

“Aaron Uzodike has been there for four years, what were his antecedents, what did he do, nothing to show for it, the entrance that leads to his compound was flooded after the rain fall yesterday, tell me how such a person can perform for his people “

The Traditional ruler insisted that the PDP Lawmaker Hon Aaron Uzodike should jettison the attempt to be sworn in but rather present himself for election after the seat must have been declared vacant.

He said the Traditional rulers Council had to dis-entangle themselves from that Judgment because the people needed a representative in the House of Assembly and warned those accusing the Traditional rulers of being induced to be mindful of their choice of words.

The Traditional ruler said the right thing to be done as far as Aba North State Constituency seat is concerned, is for the Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly Rt Hon Emmanuel Emeruwa to declare the seat vacant.
