The Dangote Refinery is currently on fire in a portion of the building.

On Wednesday, there were explosions following a significant fire at the refinery in Lagos State’s Ibeju-Lekki neighborhood.

The Dangote group has not yet responded to the fire outbreak as of the time this news was filed.

Remember that before to building the $19 billion refinery, Africa’s wealthiest man, Aliko Dangote, revealed that he battled and defeated a formidable organization of local and international mafia?

Dangote claimed that the oil industry mafia, which is more powerful than the drug trade, made every effort to undermine the refinery project.

Speaking recently at the AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum and Afreximbank annual meeting in the Bahamas, Dangote said he never thought the opposition would be that strong.

Meanwhile, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah of Anambra South recently stated that Danote’s refinery will result in lower petroleum product pump prices.

Fuel prices will drop, according to Ubah, once Nigerian oil refineries reach full capacity.
