A bill in the Senate that aims to create a federal body to oversee local government election administration has passed first reading.
The chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, Senator Sani Musa, was a sponsor of the “Local Government Independent Electoral Commission (Establishment) Bill, 2024.”
