Other identities and images of prisoners who broke out of the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Suleja, Niger State, have been made public by the Nigerian Correctional Service, or NCoS.

Remember that on April 24, when the prison walls were demolished by intense rain, 118 prisoners broke free.

The incident was ascribed to the facility’s walls’ aging and poor status by Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who also promised that the federal government will take action to stop similar incidents in the future.

The NCoS spokesperson, Abubakar Umar, declared on June 6 that 23 of the fugitives had been apprehended again. Following this, the NCoS listed the identities of the other eighteen fugitives on its website on June 15.

Ogbonna Kingsley, Albert Israel, Edoga Okwudili, Olaiya Stephen, Ibrahim Aminu, Audu Usman, Abdullahi Babangida, Idris Bashir, Umar Mustapha, Ayuba Obedience, Lamido Gambo, Garba Fidelis, Mohammed Jibrin, Sylvester Allison, and Albert Israel are among these prisoners.

Abubakar Umar disclosed the identities and images of 13 escapees who are still unaccounted for in a statement he posted on Thursday.

With the inclusion of the previously listed fugitives, the total number of publicly identifiable fugitives now stands at 31.

Tasiu Mohammed, Philip Ola, Mohammed Lawal, Buba Bello, Biyo Flamingo, Onyedikachi Emeka, Augustine Uden, Gambo Lamido, Sani Muhajid, Abubakar Hashiru, Haruna Salisu, Solomon Gkwangurum, and Aliyu Ismaila are among the newly discovered group of escapees.

According to a representative for NCoS, the agency has put in place “overt and covert” measures to guarantee the escapees’ apprehension.

“The information of the fugitives is hereby published for sister security agencies as well as the general public to look out for them in an attempt to recapture them and bring them back to the facility,” he said.

”The NCoS has provided several contact options for the public to report sightings of the escapees, the statement said.

”The NCoS urges anyone with information on the whereabouts of the fugitives to promptly contact the nearest security agent or agency.”
