The Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, has encouraged young female voters to choose a candidate who would improve their future through people-oriented programs and policies ahead of the Edo State governorship election on September 21, 2024.

At a one-day awareness-raising seminar for young female voters in Benin City, it was stated that Dr. Anugbum Onuoha, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Edo State, offered the advice.

In addition, Onuoha urged the youthful female electorate not to allow anyone to intimidate them when they exercise their right to vote for the candidates of their choosing.

He also gave them the responsibility of educating the public about the need of supporting candidates who can advance the state’s growth.

“Come out and vote whoever you want to vote for. Don’t be intimidated by anybody. Vote for persons that you think can bring development to Edo State.

“That is the only way, because if you miss it your future will be at stake. But if you want your future to be bright vote for somebody that can bring development to the state.

“It is your fundamental right to vote for the person that you think can deliver so that at the end of the day you will have dividends of democracy,” the REC said.
