The Action Peoples Party (APP) secretariat in Port Harcourt was bombed recently. The Coalition for Human Rights Advocacy in Africa, or CHRADA, has urged the Rivers State Police Command to make sure that the suspect’s sponsors and accomplices are brought to justice.

Remembers that on Monday of last week, an IED—an improvised explosive device—was set off at the party secretariat.

Preye Josiah was named as the main suspect by the Rivers State Police Command in a statement released on Sunday by Grace Iringe-Koko, the spokesperson.

The suspect is said to be one of the people igniting the opposition to the administration of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

In response, the Center demanded that all individuals connected to criminal activity in Rivers State be taken into custody by security personnel in a statement that was signed by its convener, Dr. Joyce Idakwo.

The organization emphasized that no one should be above the law, regardless of their position or influence, and accused several well-known people in Abuja of planning some attacks in Rivers State.

Because all of the individuals listed by Preye as his collaborators are well-known and in influential positions, the Center consequently encouraged the authorities to apprehend them all.

“If they are not held accountable, it will only be a matter of time before they recruit other bomb experts to terrorize the peace-loving people of Rivers State.

“We acknowledge that the police took over two months to arrest Preye, but we encourage them to salvage their image by arresting and prosecuting his sponsors and collaborators, including those within the Pro-Wike supporters”, the statement added.
