Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, the 22nd Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, has stepped down from his position.

When Ariwoola reached the age of 70, he retired.

The birthdate of Justice Ariwoola is August 22, 1954.

He was raised to the Supreme Court bench on November 22, 2011, and on June 27, 2022, he was formally named CJN.

Following Justice Tanko Muhammad’s departure, Ariwoola was named CJN.

On September 21, 2022, the Nigerian Senate formally confirmed Justice Ariwoola as Chief Justice of Nigeria.

At the Supreme Court, Ariwoola’s retirement proceedings are still in progress.

It appears, nonetheless, that Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun would take Ariwoola’s place as the next Chief Justice of Nigeria.
