In the competition for the Super Eagles’ starting goalkeeper spot, Maduka Okoye, a shot stopper from Uganda, has referred to Stanley Nwabali as a top goalie.
Before Nigeria’s AFCON qualifiers against the Republic of Benin and Rwanda on Saturday and Tuesday, Okoye gave a speech.
Nigeria’s first-choice goalkeeper right now is Nwabali because of his performance at the 2023 AFCON.
In an interview with Victor Modo, Okoye stated he was willing to challenge the Chippa United gloveman for the starting spot.
“Like you said, we have top goalkeepers. Stanley proved it in the AFCON and for me, it is also great to share the pitch with them you know and train together with them and the very good goalkeeping coach and yeah it is always good,” Okoye said.
