The New Abia State Commissioner of Police CP Danladi Isa has officially resumed as the 34th Commissioner of Police , Abia State Police Command.
CP Danladi officially took over from outgoing Commissioner who has now been promoted as Assistant Inspector General of Police AIG Kenneth Onwumelie at the Command Headquarters Bende Road, Umuahia today Wednesday 17th September 2024.
Addressing Top Officers of the Command, the new Police boss vowed to prioritize intelligence policing in fighting crime and criminality in the State.
“Policing is the Business of every body, we will work as team to make ourselves available to the people”
“Strategie would be put in place, to make sure that crime and criminality is brought to the bearest minimum”
“Inline with the mandate of the Inspector General of Police, we all have been mandated to enforce zero tolerance to corruption”
“Anyone caught would be sanctioned appropriately, I will make myself available to members of the public for complaints in case of any against any of our officers”
“All officers must ensure that they create positive image of the Police, if there is any dissonance by whatever means, we owe it a duty to make sure that we are punished”he said
The Police Boss assured the Press of continued partnership in the area of fight against crime and criminality.
In his farewell speech, the outgoing Commissioner of Police AIG Kenechukwu Onwumelie , appreciated the officers of the command to give the new Police boss adequate support so he can succeed.
He admonished them to desist from taking any step that may take the command backward as he said the new Police boss is competent and equal to the task.
