President Bola Tinubu has been urged to step in and mediate the dispute between the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello through her media office.

The media office denounced the EFCC’s behavior in a statement signed by Ohiare Michael, calling its recent disclosures and activities prejudiced.

The office urged President Tinubu to take action and make sure that the war against corruption is conducted impartially.

Michael claimed that rather than being motivated by a sincere effort to combat corruption, the anti-graft agency’s handling of the attempt to arrest the former governor was more of a “embarrassment” to the organization.

“Would the EFCC not have arrested him that day if it had been genuinely interested in prosecuting him?” The office asked.

Following Bello’s latest visit to their office, the EFCC proclaimed him wanted, which is when this happened.

Recalls that on September 19, the previous governor, together with Governor Ododo and a few other well-known individuals, showed up at the agency’s location.

He was let to go, nevertheless, without being questioned.
