Abia Police Commissioner Visits Aba Area Command, Seek Stakeholders Collaboration for effective Policing

The Abia State Commissioner of Police, CP Danladi Isa, continued his working tour of the command with a visit to Aba Area Command and its respective divisions. He also visited Isialangwa Area Command, Ubakala Division, Owerrinta Division, Osisioma Division, and the Counter-Terrorist Unit (CTU) in Aba.

During his visit, the CP shared his observations and assessments of the various environments. He lectured officers on the importance of professionalism and warned against misconduct, corruption, and incivility toward members of the public. He emphasized that necessary disciplinary actions would be taken against any officers found guilty of such behavior.

In the spirit and principles of community policing, the CP met with stakeholders, including HRM Eze Linus Mba, Chairman of the Abia State Traditional Rulers; Eze Dr. I.A. Ikonne, Enyi 1 of Aba; the Emir and representatives of the Hausa community; representatives of the Market Association Aba, members of Human Rights groups and civil society organizations, and the Police Community Relations Committee.

In a State by the Command Public Relations Officer ASP Maureen Chinaka, The CP spoke on the need for partnership and collaboration between the police and the community, emphasizing that “we are here to serve, but since security is a collaborative responsibility, we need each other to work as partners for better and more effective results.”
