Austin Tam-George, a former Rivers State commissioner for information, has expressed dissatisfaction with Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike for allegedly causing instability in the state.
The former commissioner, who held the position under Wike’s presidency, made a statement on Monday during his appearance on The Morning Brief on Channels Television.
He expressed disappointment with Wike’s conduct and accused his former employer of being the one directing the state’s never-ending political crises.
“I’m very disappointed in what the minister is doing. He’s the one orchestrating this. He’s the one who has set forth a process to destabilise the state.
“I was commissioner for information in the previous administration and so I’m highly disappointed in the minister. What I expected him to do was to, you know, focus on his mandate,” he said.
Siminalayi Fubara, the current governor of Rivers State, is doing a great job, and Tam-George urged him to concentrate on his new role as the minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
“He’s got a clear administrative mandate in the FCT. The FCT has one of the worst public schools in Nigeria.
“He has a full plate there in order to deliver service. But he’s not doing that. Instead, he’s focusing on how to destabilise River State, and obviously, Rivers people are going to resist him every time,” the former commissioner added.
