Hon. Alex Mascot Ikwechegh, the lawmaker representing Aba North/Aba South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has achieved another milestone in his efforts to transform education in Aba, Abia State. The legislator has completed the renovation and furnishing of Riverside Primary School 1 and Riverside Secondary School 2.
This renovation follows the recent completion of the Eziama High School project, as part of his broader initiative to improve educational infrastructure in the region.
In a statement issued on Sunday, titled “Revitalising Education in Aba: My Dream Becomes Reality,” Hon. Ikwechegh expressed pride in the newly refurbished schools, describing the project as a major achievement in his quest to elevate the quality of education in Aba.
“I am proud to announce the completion of the comprehensive overhaul of Riverside Primary School 1 and Riverside Secondary School 2,” Ikwechegh stated.
“As the Honourable Member representing Aba North and South Federal Constituency, I am committed to providing a conducive learning environment for Aba’s future leaders. The renovated schools now boast state-of-the-art facilities, ensuring that students and teachers have the necessary tools to succeed.”
Key Enhancements at the Schools:
• Modern Infrastructure: Newly constructed classrooms, offices, and amenities provide a safe and comfortable learning environment.
• Advanced Educational Resources: Cutting-edge technology and materials enhance the teaching and learning experience.
• Improved Security Measures: Upgraded security features ensure the safety of students and staff.
Ikwechegh outlined his vision for transforming education in Aba, focusing on three key pillars: Adequate Structure, ensuring that schools are built with modern infrastructure; Facilities and Resources, providing essential tools and materials for effective learning; and Legislative Support, advocating for policies that promote educational excellence.
He also noted that this latest project marks the third major school renovation completed during his first year in office. The schools refurbished under his leadership so far include Eziama High School, Riverside Primary School 1, and Riverside Secondary School 2.
Hon. Ikwechegh highlighted that these efforts are part of a larger reform agenda for the education sector in Abia State, initiated in collaboration with the state government. He emphasized his commitment to improving educational outcomes and empowering future generations.
“These successful revitalization efforts underscore my dedication to delivering quality education and empowering future generations,” Ikwechegh said. “I invite stakeholders, parents, and the community to join forces in shaping a brighter future for Aba and its future leaders.”
