The Nigeria-Libya second-leg match in Group D of the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifying has been delisted by the Confederation of African Football, or CAF.
Nigeria’s Super Eagles were supposed to play Libya in the qualifier’s second leg on Tuesday (today).
In the first leg, which was played on Friday at Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, the Super Eagles had already defeated Libya 1-0.
The Super Eagles, the Nigerian Football Federation, and officials described their 14-hour ordeal in the Libyan airport, where they were allegedly humiliated and ultimately decided to go home.
According to the continental football organization, an investigation into the event has been initiated.
According to reports, the Libya Football Federation also accused Nigeria of sabotage and vowed to take legal action.
CAF updated the games that would be played across the continent on Tuesday via its official Twitter account, but left out the Super Eagles vs. Libya match.
