Leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) met with a delegation of the Nigerian government on Wednesday.
The focus of the conference, which was called by SGF George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, is the country’s current situation, particularly the price of gasoline and its effects.
Wale Edun, Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy; Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, National Security Advisor, NSA; and Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, Minister of Labor, attended the meeting.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Limited, representatives, Heineken Lokpobiri, State Petroleum Minister, Ekperikpe Ekpo, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), and Information Minister Alhaji Mohammed Idris are also there, according to Vanguard.
In Abuja, the NNPCL pump price of fuel was raised from N897 per liter to N1,030, while in Lagos, it was raised from N855 to N998.
