Governments all over the world play an important role in the health of their citizens. But in our country today, we have seen a situation where leaders made our health care system nonfunctional while engaging in medical tourism abroad with their families, leaving the rest of us to die of ailments that could have been handled even at the primary health care center.
I, Chief Raymond Ofoegbu, believe it is the duty of any responsible government to properly address the health needs of its citizens by strengthening the health systems and making health care affordable to low and middle-income earners.
If given the opportunity, I will be obligated to improve the efficiency of our health establishments and give adequate attention to the Primary health Care facilities in Umuahia North by equipping our PHCs with drugs and personnel and also improve our health care infrastructure.
I am an American-trained nurse and I understand the importance of healthcare. I will finance and strictly ensure service delivery. I will partner with the private sector, non-governmental organizations, and charitable institutions in order to protect the social role of government in health development.
