Bala Mohammed has petitioned the court for an ex parte order to hold the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting amid the turmoil engulfing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a group of the party headed by the governor of Bauchi.

Recalls that Mohammed led a group of governors elected under the PDP who attempted to have Amb. Umar Damagum removed as interim national chairman.

Some party members, particularly those who supported the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, rejected the move, which further exacerbated the party’s problem.

Additionally, an order prohibiting the party from removing Damagum was issued by the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Mohammed’s group filed the lawsuit at Zamfara State’s Federal High Court.

More details shortly…
