Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s aide, Daniel Bwala has expressed concern over the claim that criminals have seized control of one of the nation’s largest military training grounds.

The camp is situated in the Kontagora Local Government Area’s headquarters, the Nagwamase Military Cantonment in Niger State.

The development, according to the report, resulted in the sacking of at least 23 towns around the camp.

But Bwala said the military ministers should wake up, implying that the ministry appears to be suffering from capability shortage illness.

He said it was regrettable that the incident occurred even though President Bola Tinubu has provided all the defense assistance required to combat insecurity.

He said that the defense ministry’s weak leadership coordination is causing difficulties in a post on his X handle on Wednesday.

Bwala stated: “If this story is true, then it is troubling. The president @officialABAT has been giving every support defense needs to fight insecurity, YET poor leadership coordination of the defense ministry is creating setbacks.

“The ministers of defense need to sit up, there seems to be a capacity deficiency syndrome there.”
