Police finally arraign Dele Farotimi over alleged defamation of Afe Babalola

Dele Farotimi, a human rights advocate and attorney, has been charged in an Ekiti State Magistrate Court.

Farotimi was taken to the court at approximately 10:25 a.m. on Wednesday after being taken into custody by Ekiti State Police Command agents in Lagos on Tuesday.

According to sources, the activist lawyer is facing a 16-court accusation of defamation of character against Aare Afe Babalola SAN, a prominent lawyer and the founder of Afe Babalola University.

In his recently released book, “Nigeria and Its Criminal Justice System,” he was charged with defaming and slandering Afe Babalola.
