On Wednesday, Nigeria’s National Grid failed for the twelfth time this year.
Around 1:33 p.m., the most recent occurrence occurred, leaving Nigerians in the dark once more.
Eleven grid collapses have occurred since January 2024.
The grid collapsed three times in a single week in October.
A tweet from the official handle of Nigeria’s National Grid, said: “A major grid setback has occurred and the restoration is to commence.”
According to a Nigerian energy distribution corporation, the country’s grid failed for the thirteenth time in a row in 2024.
Elijah Friday, a spokesman for Jos Electricity Distribution Company, revealed this in a statement.
“The current outage being experienced within our franchise states is a result of loss of power supply from the national grid.
“The loss of power supply from the national grid occurred this afternoon at about 1333 hours today, Wednesday, 11th December 2024, hence the loss of power supply on all our feeders.
“We hope to restore normal power supply to our esteemed customers as soon as the grid supply is restored back to normalcy,” he stated.
Remember that on November 5 and 7, 2024, the national grid went down.
In a similar vein, the nation went dark in October 2024 as the national grid failed.
